Buh-Bye Tattoo!

November 28, 2016

Tattoo’s are great! They are a great sign of art and expression. However, there’s always that one tattoo we wish we never got. “Oh gosh, what was I thinking?!” Whether it’s happened to you or a friend, you can’t help but to look for different solutions on how to make it go away. Luckily, we live in a world where technology is extremely advanced and we can find places that offer solutions right at our fingertips.

There are 2 very popular ways of effective tattoo removal: Eliminink and Laser. Here are a few pros and cons on both types of tattoo removal.

ELIMININK:

What it does-Eliminink is a solution that goes into the skin and brings ink/pigment up from underneath the skin and raises it to the surface. It creates a scab and the scab falls off.

Pros-

*It’s effective

*Most people see results after one session depending on the darkness of the tattoo

*It’s good for tattoo’s of color

*Raises pigment from underneath

*Can be more affordable

*People can typically expect to have 1-5 sessions depending on the darkness and size of the tattoo

*Most people say the pain is  bearable or compare it to getting the tattoo for the first time.

Cons-

*Healing is more intense and longer (can take up to 3-6 months)

*No makeup, water or friction may be applied on the area until the scabbing is done

*Not good for large tattoos

*Time consuming

Laser:

What it does-Laser goes into the skin and breaks up the particles of ink/pigment into tiny pieces. Once the molecules are broken up, they become so small that they disappear.

Pros-

*It’s good for large pieces

*It’s faster

*No intense scabbing

Cons-

*Can take multiple sessions (more than 5) depending on the size and darkness of the tattoo

*Not good for some color tattoos

*Pain can be a lot more than getting an actual tattoo

*More costly

*Creates more scar tissue

Depending on where the tattoo is and how quickly you want it removed, these option can help you decide which option is best for you.
